Opening this lego set was a real excitement as it's our first big LEGO set. Yes, we had a few lego bits lying around and different sets, like the quad bike, and the amazing 3 in 1 dinosaurs set, but this was the one that was promising to update our Lego building experience. I don't know how we lasted until now with random bits of lego and not even one classic 2x4 LEGO brick.

The boys were up for the task and ripped off the LEGO box, and was happy to find a few bags sorted by colours. It was allowing for an easy start as they could assemble the Vespa bike and the yellow digger in no time. We, later on, opted for the expert building option and built the grey castle.  Very excited to keep exploring this set and combine it into our LEGO collection.

Comes with a small booklet with beginners ideas such as camera, Vespa motorbike and excavator. There are also a few advanced pictures ideas and a link to the Lego website for detailed instructions. The set comes with 790 pieces in 33 vibrant colours and all the bits you need to build your creations: wheels, windows, arches, flowers, gate, angled blocks. Another bonus is the box. It’s a big Lego shape yellow Lego 2x4 cube for storage. You can use it for storing your bricks, Lego instruction booklets or any other toys you have laying around. I loved that our other Lego boxes and Lego sort and store head can stack up. Boys loved it from the get-go. It promises and delivers hours and days of fun.

Very happy with this purchase for the summer holidays. L (5.5) loves building imaginary vehicles, M (3.5) loves playing (and braking) them. Myself enjoyed building the castle and then we all pimples it up with flowers, mini figures and weapons.

As with most Lego products and sets, this also comes highly recommend.  Suitable for 5+ but my 3.5 YO also enjoyed playing with the finished models.

Here are our top prons and cons from the review

👍
  • Amazing lasting quality.
  • A large variety of bricks sizes and colours.
  • Lots of ‘accessories’: windows, glasses, angle bricks etc.
  • Useable and durable plastic yellow Lego brick-shaped storage box.

👎
  • No mini figures are included.
  • Could benefit from additional ideas in the instructions booklet and LEGO website.
  • Could have another set of wheels so that the boys could build their trucks and cars.
